About

A senior engineer who fixes things properly.

I'm Melroy — the engineer behind TechSpike. For more than25 years I've built, scaled and rescued websites and software platforms, including systems serving millions of users. I've spent a long career being the person brought in to make critical things work — and to keep them working.

TechSpike is where I bring that same senior engineering to small and medium businesses directly. Not through a layer of account managers and junior staff — you deal with me. The person who actually does the work, and who actually cares whether it's done right.

I started this because too many business owners have been burned: a “quick fix” that broke three other things, a developer who vanished mid-job, an invoice that kept climbing with no end in sight. A working website matters too much to be left to guesswork. You deserve someone who treats it with the seriousness it deserves — and tells you the truth along the way.

How I work

The way I'd want someone to treat my own business.

I tell you the truth

Even when it's not what you hoped — that something's a quick fix, or that a rebuild is the smarter spend. You can't make good decisions on spin.

I agree the price first

You approve a fixed price before I start. No open-ended hourly meter ticking away while you worry about the bill.

I work carefully

Backups before changes, a staging copy where it matters, and a check of the whole site afterwards. Your site should leave better than it arrived — never worse.

I explain my work

You get a plain-english summary of what I changed and why, so you stay in control of your own website long after I'm done.

Let's fix your website — properly.

Tell me what's wrong and I'll give you an honest assessment. No obligation, no hard sell.

No obligation. A real person — me — replies personally.
